It’s out – the new Casio Edifice Scuderia Toro Rosso Limited Edition chronograph was launched to the media today in the Monza paddock.
A very large crowd of journalists sat in the very hot top floor of the Red Bull Energy Station to see our sponsor since the start of this year, Casio, unveil a unique watch, with Toro Rosso branding on its face.
Our two drivers were each presented with one by Harald Schroeder, Division Manager Marketing Casio Europe, but they had to work hard for it. In temperatures that are unseasonably high, at around 34 degrees, Daniil Kvyat and Carlos Sainz “raced” each other on exercise bikes and to see how well they fit the Edifice motto of “Speed and Intelligence,” they had to answer questions about time and Italy at the same time.
These included naming different types of pasta and historic Italian building such as the leaning tower of Pisa. The pasta question saw a drop off in cycling speed as our two drivers were shown the pasta by a very distracting assistant!
