Our team is made up of a large number of professionals, all experts in their field. Their experience and effort is what allows the team to be competitive in the Formula 1 World Championship. We call ourselves “STR People” and in most cases the general public don’t know who they are, as they work behind the scenes. But away from the glare of the spotlights, teamwork is vital and that’s why we have paired them up and interviewed them for you.
Along with our friends from Red Bull Italy, Italian F1 journalist Giorgio Terruzzi spent some time in our factory to highlight the Italian heart that beats within Scuderia Toro Rosso. 100% Toro Rosso, it takes the form of 10 questions to 10 of our colleagues who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that our team and our cars are always in tip-top shape. Giorgio takes us on a short trip, split into two episodes, to meet “the men and women who design, experiment, fit, control and bring to life a Formula 1 car.”
Ever wonder how our Formula 1 team sets itself up in more than 20 countries around the world? Now that the F1 season is over, it’s a good chance to show you some behind-the-scenes, by getting to know Graham and Michele. Meet our Team Manager and Team Coordinator and find out what their job is about!
This is a chat between Chantelle Sampat and Ashley Thoday, in our UK base. Both of them work as aerodynamicists, but their backgrounds are completely different. Ashely was actually born and brought up right here in Bicester, home to our wind tunnel. He had already worked in motor sport, prior to joining Scuderia Toro Rosso and cut his teeth designing Formula Indy cars. As for Chantelle, she worked here as an intern, even before completing her studies. Once she had graduated, she came back to embark on a full time careers as a Junior Aerodynamicist. So we have a local boy and a London lass, working with the wind tunnel, doing simulation work, playing Italy v England five-a-side football and shopping in the famous Bicester Village outlet mall. Different but complementary and team players through and through.
