MORE TYRE SAVING – BRAZIL 2013

No surprises on Saturday with the rain carrying on where it left off yesterday.

MORE TYRE SAVING – BRAZIL 2013

This meant the drivers had a relatively quiet time of it during the final hour of free practice at Interlagos.

Daniel Ricciardo waited until 15 minutes before the end of the session before going out on the full wet tyres, popped back in to try another front wing and then, as the track finally dried, he came in again to switch to the Intermediate Pirellis. Team-mate Jean-Eric Vergne sat in the garage until the final six minutes, only going out on the inters. He thus did a mere 5 laps to go sixth fastest. Daniel ended up twelfth, running a total of 9 laps.

Two-times Brazil winner Mark Webber was quickest for Red Bull, followed by the two Lotuses of Romain Grosjean and Raikkonen replacement, Heikki Kovalainen. It seems highly likely that qualifying will take place on a wet or at least a damp track in a few hours time.
