CIRCUIT DE CATALUNYA

Event Info

The Barcelona-Catalunya circuit can be found in a suburb of the Catalan capital and its world famous for its magnificent architecture and art, in a perfect fusion of ancient and modern.

The Spanish circuit has hosted F1 since 1991 and, over the years, the layout has undergone several modifications.

The current version has been used for the Spanish GP since 2007 and is 4.6 kilometres in length and comprises 16 corners.

Technical Characteristics of the Barcelona Circuit

The venue is familiar territory to everyone in the sport as, once again this year it hosted the only two pre-season test sessions. The technical characteristics of the Barcelona circuit mean that teams opt for a medium-high downforce set-up.

That will stress the tyres, especially at turn 3, a particularly long right hander.

An abrasive track surface, high speed corners and heavy tyre wear are some of the key aspects of this race, during which we can expect to see several pit stops.

Michael Schumacher has been the most successful driver in Barcelona with 6 wins, while Ferrari has 8 victories to its name.
