Red Bull family drivers, Carlos Sainz, Daniil Kvyat and Daniel Ricciardo spent some time on Wednesday in the centre of Milan. Of course, the trip had to involve wheels, but this time they were on a historic tram from the Thirties. There was plenty of press and TV crews, as well as Milanese bystanders to talk to along the way, as they enjoyed a lightning visit to the city which is at the heart of the Italian fashion industry. After that, it would be time to turn their attention to the Italian Grand Prix at Monza this weekend.

The trip around the Lombardy capital took in all the major sites, from the Peace Arch, the Piazza Castello, La Scala, the Piazza Duomo and the Colonne di San Lorenzo. During this special “Happy Hour” trip spent on board the iconic old tram, the drivers also got to try a special Red Bull “aperitivo!” The event was organised by our friends from Red Bull Italy, who made sure fans were able to meet the drivers and get some selfies.
Kvyat told the press he really liked coming to the Monza race: “It’s always a pleasure to race in Monza, which is a special circuit and, as I lived for quite a while in Italy, being back here is always enjoyable.” Sainz, who turns 22 today echoed his team-mate’s sentiments: “The historic Monza race should always be on the calendar. Thanks to the most recent changes to the track it is now safer, but it still retains its character and spectacle.” Red Bull Racing’s Daniel Ricciardo can’t wait to get out on track: ” The Monza circuit is one of my favourites because it’s so fast and also because of the enthusiasm of the crowd.
