“My dream is to continue to work with Scuderia Toro Rosso and play my part in bringing it further success in the future.” These words were spoken, with some degree of emotion, by one of the guys from our “Formula Future” project, when our team was awarded the “City of Faenza” Medal at the 2016 Bandini Trophy event.
The “Greats of Formula 1” has a long list of past winners and this year it was the turn of “our” Max Verstappen. It was clearly well deserved, but it’s worth pointing out that he won the award for what he achieved during his time with Toro Rosso, just like Luca, Umberto, Ivan and Christian, to name but a few of the guys in our team. Proud to be wearing team kit, they were on stage with the driver whose achievements were in no small part down to so many of them!
“I was there…” “I worked on his chassis…” “how nice to see a part made with my own hands fitted to his car on track…” and that’s why they too were award winners along with Laura and Maddalena, who run the “Formula Future” project. It was also heartwarming to see how many people were drawn to the 10 Years of Formula One exhibition in Brisighella’s main square, featuring all the Toro Rosso cars from 2006 right up to 2015’s STR10, built by the guys from “Formula Future” and driven by Max Verstappen – prize winners all! It was recognition for what we believe in the most, namely young talent, motivated and helped to grow towards a bright future.
